- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup chopped dark chocolate or chocolate chips
- ¾ cup dried or fresh cherries, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add egg and vanilla, mix until combined.
- Gradually add dry ingredients, mix until just combined.
- Fold in chopped chocolate and cherries.
- Drop spoonfuls of dough onto prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges are firm.
- Let cool slightly before drizzling with melted chocolate, if desired.
Notes
- Cherries can be replaced with dried cranberries for a different flavor.
- Chill dough for 30 minutes if it’s too soft to scoop.
