- 8 ounces elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese
- 2 cups milk
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Stir in flour, cook for 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk, continue stirring until the sauce thickens.
- Add shredded cheddar, mozzarella, salt, pepper, and paprika. Stir until cheeses melt and sauce is smooth.
- Combine cooked pasta with cheese sauce. Transfer to a greased baking dish.
- Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
Notes
- You can add cooked bacon or sautéed vegetables for extra flavor.
- Use a mix of cheeses for a richer taste.
