- 1 lb Italian sausage, sliced
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 1 small onion, diced
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup spinach, chopped
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add sliced sausage and cook until browned. Remove and set aside.
- In the same pot, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant.
- Add orzo and cook for 2 minutes, stirring frequently.
- Pour in chicken broth, bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until orzo is al dente.
- Stir in heavy cream, cooked sausage, spinach, and Parmesan cheese. Cook until heated through.
- Season with salt and pepper, then serve hot.
Notes
- You can substitute spinach with kale or arugula for variation.
- For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes during cooking.
