- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- ¾ cup warm milk
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- ½ tsp salt
- Optional: powdered sugar or glaze for topping
Instructions
- Activate yeast: In a small bowl, combine warm milk and yeast, let sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- Mix dough: In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt. Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead: Turn onto a floured surface and knead for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- First rise: Place in a greased bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Shape: Punch down the dough, divide into 12 pieces, and shape into rolls. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Second rise: Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Bake: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Bake for 15-18 minutes until golden brown.

- Ensure milk is warm but not hot to activate yeast properly.
- Allow the dough to rise adequately for fluffy textures.
- You can add cinnamon or vanilla to customize the flavor.
