- 8 oz elbow macaroni or pasta of choice
- 2 cups cooked BBQ chicken, shredded
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 3 tbsp honey BBQ sauce
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley or chives for garnish
Instructions
- Cook pasta according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a large saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour and whisk to form a roux; cook 1 minute.
- Gradually whisk in milk and heavy cream, simmer until thickened.
- Add shredded cheeses and stir until melted and smooth.
- Stir in BBQ chicken, honey BBQ sauce, salt, and pepper.
- Add cooked pasta and toss to combine.
- Serve hot, garnished with fresh herbs.
Notes
- Use leftover cooked chicken for convenience.
- Adjust honey BBQ sauce for sweetness preference.
- Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in an airtight container for up to 2 days.
