- 1 pound breakfast sausage
- 8 large eggs
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 cup milk
- 4 slices bread, cubed
- 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Fresh chopped parsley or green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Cook sausage in a skillet until browned; drain excess fat. Spread sausage evenly in the baking dish.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, paprika, pepper, and half of the cheese.
- Add bread cubes and pour the egg mixture over the sausage, pressing down gently.
- Sprinkle remaining cheese on top of the casserole.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes until eggs are set and cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving.
Notes
- You can substitute breakfast sausage with turkey or vegetarian sausage for a healthier option.
- Prepare the casserole the night before and bake in the morning for an even quicker breakfast.
